The Back Bar is situated in a modern conservatory to the rear of SOUL’s Main Bar area, it has a separate generous bar and can easily to closed off for private functions. The flexible versatile space can accommodate around 250 standing, and 90 seated for a sit-down meal. The capacity of the Back Bar is of course dependant on the nature of the event but SOUL can easily adapt the space to suit function requirements.
The Main Bar features a large bar in the centre with surrounding seating, and the Church’s former pulpit has been converted into a DJ booth. The large Main Bar comfortably holds 500, the seating for 150 incorporates booths with areas of poseur tables to create a diverse mixture of socialising spaces. All of our areas hold various capacities up to 500 people and allow your guests to capitalise on SOUL’s vivacious atmosphere.

The whole venue holds 915 people and can also be hired subject to minimum spend.

Our Children and Young Person’s Licence allows under 18s to be in the venue until 9.30pm as long as there is food as part of your event.
All staff are trained to Challenge 25 so anyone looking under the age of 25, will be required to produce age verification.

The whole venue benefits from high-speed WiFi, a state-of-the-art sound system and flat screen TVs throughout.
Any equipment can also be hired by our range of preferred professional local suppliers, if required, to enhance your event.

Entertainment includes our House DJ on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm.
The venue is also equipped to have live singers and entertainment.

The Back Bar is all on ground level and contains the accessible toilet. There is also a ramp at the front door which can be used instead of the front steps.
All TVs have the option to have subtitles. We stock a wide range of different glassware and crockery of different shapes and sizes. There is also a diverse range of tables and chairs.
Blue badge on street bays are located nearby on Rose Street, Chapel Street, Crown Street, South Silver Street and Golden Square.

There is not a standard hire charge for the use of any area privately. However, if the space will be closed to the general public, a minimum spend will be negotiated with management depending on the size of the party.
The Back Bar can be hired privately Sundays through to Thursdays; Fridays and Saturdays are at management’s discretion and dependant on a number of factors including size and style of event.

The kitchen can cater for all dietary requirements for pre-ordered function food. Full allergen information is available on request. However, due to the busy nature of the kitchen, it is currently not possible to guarantee that any product is 100% free from any allergens.

SOUL’s prime city centre location makes it accessible for all your guests with (on street) parking (including blue badge parking) available minutes away. Whilst we are also within easy reach to Aberdeen Airport, P&J Live and Aberdeen bus and train stations.

SOUL is conveniently located next to several hotels and serviced apartments within the city centre. Discounted rates may be available on request.
